The Fish Museum at ICAR-Central Institute of Coldwater Fisheries Research (ICAR-CICFR), Bhimtal, was established in 2020 and has since been meticulously maintained as a dedicated facility for the preservation, documentation, and dissemination of knowledge related to Coldwater fisheries. The museum features an extensive collection of Coldwater fish species reported from the Himalayan region, traditional fishing gears employed by communities across various Himalayan states, and a range of sport fishing equipment. Comprehensive digital records of all exhibits have been systematically developed to support archival, research, and educational purposes. The museum serves as an important resource for students, researchers, and stakeholders, and plays a significant role in promoting awareness, education, and conservation of Coldwater ichthyofaunal diversity and associated cultural heritage.
